Mandai is a multi-faith facility — it has separate halls for Buddhist/Taoist, Christian, Muslim, Hindu, and other religious communities. Most halls are not air-conditioned.

For a private, air-conditioned alternative see Woodlands Memorial. For a full comparison of public vs private options see Public vs Private Columbarium Singapore.

How to book a niche at Mandai Columbarium

Important: Mandai Columbarium does not allow advance purchase — you can only book after cremation has taken place.

Your funeral director typically handles the niche booking as part of the post-cremation process. Steps: 1. Cremation takes place at Mandai Crematorium — see Cremation Singapore 2. Ash collection the following day 3. Funeral director proceeds to the columbarium booking office 4. Niche is allocated (sequentially by default, or you pay S$250 to select a preferred location) 5. Urn is placed in the niche

⚠️ Important

Because advance booking is not available at Mandai, you cannot reserve a preferred niche location (e.g. eye-level, specific hall) before your loved one passes. Popular niche locations sell out. If securing a specific location matters to your family, a private columbarium like Woodlands Memorial allows advance purchase. See Woodlands Memorial.
