Can CPF be used for funeral expenses?
Not directly upfront. CPF cannot be drawn down at the time of passing. Once CPF pays out to nominees after death is processed, those funds can be used. For un-nominated CPF, families can apply for reimbursement of up to S$6,000 for funeral expenses through the Public Trustee's Office.
→ See our full CPF After Death Singapore guide.
Are there subsidies for low-income families?
Yes. Low-income families can apply through their nearest Social Service Office for ComCare financial assistance. Some religious organisations and community groups also offer support.
